| On my 04 4runner, when you put it into gear, all the doors lock...no problem there.. when I park, turn the car off, use the door handle and it unlocks the door to exit...right...ok well.recently, I.e. in the last 4 days, when I go to do that, it does not feel the same, I have to use a good amount of force to do it, almost as if it were jamming, or a " tooth of a gear is missing that gives it smooth clean leverage on it...not sure..passenger door is fine...WTF...how do I fix this...dont tell me I am going to have to spend big $ to fix this... |

Take the door panel off as much as you feel comfortable with and do a visual inspection and take it from there. Be careful not strip philips head screws if any and not to break any plastic fasteners. As you remove stuff and there's an electrical connection make sure you unplug the connections Use an online service manual as a guide, e.g. http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/index.html |
