I was thinking of opening up my own business and was wondering what you guys thought. I was going to open up a pay to shoot range/ gun store. I am hoping that most of my profits would come from the pay to shot range. I would have class 3 NFA weapons, SBR machines that people could rent time on and buy ammo for. There is nothing like this near me that I know of. (Southwest Missouri) Also most of the gun shops in my area are ran by pawn shop owners or even worse "good ol' boys." So does this sound like something other gun owners would be interested in or am I setting myself up for a huge finical loss? Your input is appreciated. `Brian |

know your local gun laws form a real business plan SBA do more homework consider posting in the MO hometown forum too |
| I would go with a non toxic indoor range with frangable ammo, reduces cost on air filtration and avoids problems with lead contaimination. It would drive up cost on an indoor range, but most people who prefer to shoot indoors, would still pay the price for their comfort from the elements. |

"The best way to make a million in the gun business is start with two." Doesn't mean you can guarantee a 50% return, it means the odds are you will watch 1/2 your capital go up in smoke. Owning a gun shop has GOT to be a hard row to hoe, the margins are small, 1/2 your customers are idiot, and the talent pool to hire from is generally slim. I wouldn't be inclined to go down that path. shooter |
