I am looking for a good credit card to use for gas purchases and pay off each month. I have always paid cash in the past, but with the rewards programs some are offering, I may be able to get 10-20 cents a gallon off the prices, and by paying off each month, not have any interest charges. Who has found the best and where do I need to look? I have compared alot on the internet and most seem to have a downside. Most give a big reward upfront and then it declines. My dad uses Discover, but after checking they are changing their rules in October to limit your savings a great deal. Is a one company gas card better? |
Really only looking at gas. I have a couple of others that I rotate to keep the 0% if I need to carry a balance for some reason. |
Did you read the fine print at that site? It said on the first page 5% back, but under the disclosure that came up when you apply, it said 1% back after you spent $3000 in that year. And if you buy gas at Sams Club or any membership club, it was only .25% back. This is the problem I was running into. My dad has a Discover right now that gives 5% back but his terms are changing in October to the same thing above. I don't know if there are any real deals now. Unless it's a one company gas card. Like BP. |
well, if you buy that much gas, run the numbers, hey whatever works for you i spend ~$160/month on gas and i dont buy gas at clubs |
