I've been at quicken for all of 2014 but I'm not sure I'm using it to its full potential.
2 questions for you right now... Do you review any reports each month? What exactly are you looking for? How do you handle checks that you cashed or ATM usages, the $20 that you don't exactly remember spending? Do you just post it as miscellaneous? |

I will occasionally look at the spending report to see where the $$ is going and if something looks odd How do you handle checks that you cashed or ATM usages, the $20 that you don't exactly remember spending? Do you just post it as miscellaneous? For Deposited checks, I will usually enter a category, and use the memo field for a description. For ATM withdrawals, I will just list the category as Cash, and don't worry about tracking what it was used for. I don't carry or use a lot of cash, so ATM withdrawals are rare for me. |
