It's getting hammered. For a long term investment how would you invest in a bundle of these?

If you are interested in a particular sector do a search, in your case search: Energy Sector Mutual Fund
Looks like VGENX might be something you would be interested in, for example.

something along those lines, depending where you have your account.

I have the Vanguard Energy investment fund in my companies 401k and since that fund is 17% down from 6 weeks ago I threw 12k into it.
I plan to ride the rebound back up in a year or two.

Mid-stream, generally speaking, is less volatile than others. They also pay serious dividends every quarter.
Closed-End Funds if you have an IRA.
Do yourself a favor and look into Kayne Anderson Funds.
KED and KYN are solid.

+1 for KYN. I've made a nice return on their capital gains and dividends.
