It used to get mortared a lot.  It was also very crowded during the surge.

Quarters- there are the Chu's or trailers and then there are the old buildings which are used as barracks for Army and Ugondian contractors alike.

When it rains, everything gets muddy as can be. There is a little gravel but not much. Its a real mud pit.

Haven't been mortared in awhile. The FOB is right off a main street so it stays noisey.

Just got new personal internet as of 2 weeks ago. Supposed to be pretty good. I use the MWR net at my units TOC.

DFAC- not too bad. 4 meals a day. There is a 24hr to go sandwhich shop if you miss the chow hours.

Laundry is fast. Usually same day turn around.

Gym- there are certain times a day when it is slammed. Cardio room normally has some open spots but you need to choose your time wisely when going for the weights. If you plan on being in the gym a good bit, bring 2 pair of tennis shoes with you. One for walking to the gym cause the get muddy and one to wear inside.

PX- pretty small. Typically has stuff in stock that they can't give away. Most stuff is overpriced also.

Ballsitic Eyewear is required 24/7 on the FOB.

Let me know if you want to know anything else.

I am pretty sure everyone is using spawar for comms. Alot of guys have web cams for all the other services.

Iraqna is supposed to be the best in the area. Its has its issues and you should know why. Other then that, its the best because of free incoming.

You can get all the dvd's you want from the shops. Prices have gone up though on singles. Most want $2. If you knowem, you can usually do $1. Box sets/ series have gone down in price it seems like.

If you have room in your conex box, but a rubber floor mat in it or a boot brush. The kind you stand in to wipe the mud off on.

I will see what I else I think of.
