So I skipped watching TV at all for about 6 months of this deployment, but I finally caved and got a TV and AFN antenna rigged up to watch. It's the same old shit I have been watching for a decade+ but man what a bunch of goobers the on camera people are. I am downright embarrassed for all branches of service that we have such a bunch of non-photogenic lisping, fugly, goofball goobers doing the news. I know physical appearance is not measurable on the ASVAB but damn! How many of you don't know at least one smart, witty, decent looking Sailor/Soldier/Airman/Marine who should have the job instead? Maybe they need to have a talent search or something.

I worked with a guy who thought Air Force SSgt Laurie Gilchrest was good looking. He was nuts. It's been a while since I've watched AFN, but when I was deployed to Kuwait, both times in Afghanistan and when I was stationed in Korea I liked Navy Petty Officer Jennifer Grey the most. |
