Anybody else in the VBC/BIAP area doing the DANCON march? Did you get signed up in time to get a medal, I didn't.

I did the Dancon a few weeks ago in Kosovo. I got the medal. Its a pretty nice march or at least it was in Kosovo. A lot of fun with a lot of other NATO Armies

WTF?! go to war and garrison breaks out. Who the hell heard of doing a 12mile walk, not a march I didn't see any rucksacks, in the middle of Iraq in the middle of a freakin' war?! Am I the only one who see's the insanity here? Or was it somethig to keep the support busy?

I saw plenty of guys with rucks, they just weren't mandatory. I think it should have at least been with IBA/ACH but they would have had more heat injuries if it was. One of the guys with me ran the whole thing in about 2.5 hours (I didn't). It's a Danish tradition, I don't see the harm in it.

There is another one coming up in Kosovo soon. I am signed up for that one. I was thinking of lugging my M240H along for a while but then I came to my senses. 28 lbs empty! I can feel it pressing me into the ground when I just carry it to the flight line.
