They changed contracts, and we can't get most Rip-Its anymore.  Specifically, the citrus ones are a no-go.  There's some green shitty "zombie piss" looking stuff that tastes about as good as that description sounds, and that's what they call the "citrus energy drink" at the class 1.

Well....it's good to have friends in Dubai.

I got 2 boxes today, 65 pounds each.  Nothing but flats of sugar-free citrus rip-its.  From the way I've been treated by those who saw them before I had a chance to hide them, I'm thinking of changing my name to Hajji Ferret Sahhib as it seems more appropriate.  Lawl.

SF means Special Forces.  Not Air Force police.  MWD or not.

FWIW, I know plenty of guys who are in comm, intel, and vehicle maintenance who have AFCAMs, and a couple even have BSM's with V's.  They still don't feel the need to refer to themselves with Special Forces' acronym.

You might want to double check the weight limit. You should be allowed up to 70lbs since you are a CAC holder.

We might only have a 8-9 cases of rip its but we make up for it with Gatorade, Pitbull's, and soda to make up for it.

Ive looked at the weight regs. We are BESF Support Staff, not DOS employees so we dont get any freedoms. And from what we're hearing, mail service altogether is going to be discontinued. AND, we wont be able to eat at the Embassy DFAC unless on duty. Whole lots of bullshit coming down the line.

Lets hope. Supposedly there was email traffic about it, but I havent seen it. Its not like I eat over there much anyways, there is only four posts within walking distance and two are right next to embassy annexes that have their own food rooms. Ive gotten a total of 5 packages, two of which I ordered and two were christmas packages. Ive got one order on the way now and as long as it gets here I dont care.

That can be said about most of the gubment and look what it got Ambassador Stevens. Thats the whole reason I still have a job. There were talking about pulling some of our manning but the Iraqi PM said fuck that shit. We ultimately protect him as well as 6 or 7 other embassies.

I hope you continue to remain gainfully employed, but would prefer you were treated better.  I have seen the wages, benefits, leave, and living conditions going steadily down for contractors just over the last 2 years.  It's getting pretty damned bad, actually.  I'm glad I have my job, but the base pay is only only about 2/3 of what I was making in Kosovo in 2004, and requires a hell of a lot more experience, judgment, responsibility, and stress.  Not to mention I actually have to commute through Saudi traffic.

Send me back to Afghanistan to ride on the side of shit trucks or sit in a tower with a PKM instead.  Less dangerous.

I work at a security operations center desk or at a gate at a joint US/Saudi military facility in Saudi Arabia.  The dangerous part is having a 20km commute through Saudi traffic.  They average 29 vehicular deaths per 100K people per year, here.  The US averages about 12.3.
