Anything native and interesting out there? |

What do you like?
Be sure you have full OpenGL support though, and a decent graphics card. id has an executable for Doom 3. Just copy the game files off the CD and run the executable. Same for UT2K4 I think. There is Cube and Cube 2 for a GPL take on UT. Scorched gets pretty interesting, but I've only played it for a little bit. It's a 3d artillery game. I've been checking out some RPGs, and while the parts are there, the story isn't. I did check out one attempt at an MMORPG. Wasn't very "user friendly", but I'm sure if I gave it more time. |

I'm trying to remember what driver to use for that card.
It is a little old, but if you keep the resolution down you shouldn't have many framerate issues. Install the driver by clicking the System button on the top of your screen and going to Administration > Hardware Drivers I don't think it's the 180 something something driver but the 170 something driver. You'll have to restart the X Server to use the driver (easy as logging out and back in). Then fire up a terminal and type: glxgears To see if it worked. If it's getting above 500 FPS that should be fine for the more basic 3D games. |

Urban Terror is what I play. http://www.urbanterror.net/e107_plugins/autogallery/Gallery/In_Game_Action/shot0007.jpg downloading it now. looks like the old Rogue Spear game from the win 98 era. is it pretty easy to install? |

I'm trying to install the original CALL OF DUTY now.
it looks like it goes OK till it prompts me to insert CD2 I try to eject, with with the button on the CDROM or in terminal with the "eject cdrom0" and it says the CD is in use. I even tried the paperclip emergency eject, but I can't get it to complete the install. |

Another hint. You won't be able to unmount a drive if you have anything open that's inside the directory where the CD is mounted. I don't know if you'll be able to do anything about that though. I guess in last case scenario you can try to copy all the files over to the hard drive and run the install from there. I've had to do that with United Offence on windows even. |
