I bought an enclosure a while ago to save some files and format my hd in my desktop. I hooked it to my laptop, saved the files, formatted the hd and life was good. Fast forward to tonite. My brother in law gave me a box full of hd's and I put one in the enclosure to see how big it is and to format it. well..neither my laptop or desktop will let me browse to it. They both detect it, say it's working properly but even if I reboot..it isn't showing up in my directory.. Any idea's? Is the hd in it possibly fubar? I have the jumper on it set to slave.. |

Quoted: The only thing that recognized it was the "tool" for turning off a storage device hooked up via usb. the little icon by the clock with the green arrow on it.are you using Windows? Maybe there is nothing on the drives to browse? reformat them with NTFS? When you say "recognize", do the drives show up anywhere in particular on your PC? Quoted: Not showing the hard drive in the list.Control panel, administrative tools, computer management, disk management, right click on drive and initialize.. |

I'm confused. You put a hard drive an an enclosure, copied files to it and then formated it? BTW, you need to set the jumper to master, no slave in a single drive enclosure? |
