How do I create a pdf file that will only print the text fields?
A friend who owns a business had a bunch of invoices printed off and stupid me suggested he scan one, put it in his computer and he could fill them out that way.
Well he would like to use up the 1000 invoices he has printed off.
Is this even possible?

Adobe PDF has a typewriter tool that will allow you to enter text

Now, are your asking for fillable forms in which you enter text in a defined area or would you like to type the info using typewriter

or just hand write on the invoice

Adobe Form Designer

Adobe Typewriter Tool for Acrobat

He wants fillable forms, however he just wants what you type in the form to print.
He has a large amount of printed invoices that he would like to use up. Drop them in the printer and have what he typed in the text field printed without the rest of the invoice being printed over.

Am I to confusing in my explanation?

Probably the easiest way is to create a template in Word. Fill in the blanks, pop form in printer, print.

if I do it in word I'm assuming I have to guess where the text boxes need to go?

Yes, It will be a bit of trial and error. Once you locate the first field properly it will go pretty fast after that.

you need adobe acrobat pro.  If you have a business it is better to buy it  and have you or your admin learn it rather than using a bootleg copy that you can get off the internet
