I have been watcing a TON of movies/TV shows on Netflix's Instant Viewing. I'm very pleased, and as stated above, their selection has gotten much better. Hulu is also a good way to go, but the selection is nowhere near as good as Netflix's (being a free service I won't complain too much about it).
Just a couple of days ago I installed a wireless router at home and have been catching TV shows with Netflix in my netbook anywhere in the house. |

I have been using netflix for over a year now and cannot even imagine the amount of money that I have saved from not having to go to the movie gallery (which is the ONLY movie rental place in my town) and pay 5.99 for 1 dvd rental. I have watched movies online and have been considering getting the ROKU device to attach to my tv and watch them that way instead of via my pc, it just sucks that it is ~$115 for it without any extra a/v cables |

I'm not sure. I haven't ever left the movie paused for any long length of time but I assume that it would just re-establish the connection like when resuming a partial download and continue from where you stopped it at. But that depends on the software installed on your computer and the servers that they use to stream the media. A quick email to their customer support would probably get you the information that you want. |

so how does it work when you have to leave for a couple hours. can you resume and go back to the movie or .... You can stop the movie at any time, come back at any time (could be weeks later), and the movie will resume playing at the exact spot where you left it. It's truly convenient. That information is stored on their server, not you computer, so you can watch a portion on one computer, and a couple of days later resume watching on another computer, and it will play in the same spot. |

DO NOT USE NETFLIX WITH YOUR TIVO if you have one.
My wife tried viewing a movie, watched about half of it, then the screen locked up. The tivo wouldn't respond to anything. When I got home I checked it out and rebooted it. Now it won't boot up at all. I called Tivo and spoke to a CSR, he told me that my hard drive was dead.. yet when I ran their own diagnostics (found a link on how to do it), their diagnostics said it passed. He denied it had anything to do with Netflix at all, but I found quite a few threads on the net relating to how when people have tried using Netflix on their Tivo, it has killed their Tivo. Tivo now wants $50 to replace my tivo with a refurbished one! I'm about to toss it out with the trash on Monday. Netflix on its own is great though, I've had their service from day one. -d |

anyone use this service to watch movies from their computer / TV? We get the service with our Netflix subscription. My wife has watched a few on her laptop (HP with Vista with a 1.6GHz processor, 2 gig RAM) I could not get it to work on my work Laptop when I brought it home (Dell with 2.2GHZ Duel Core, 2 Gig RAM) - something about the MS Media Player just would not update to their 'specs'. What do you want to know |
