I have two different distribution lists that I send email to.  Sometimes the same email will go to both lists.  Some recipients are members or both distribution lists.  Is there a way to avoid sending duplicate emails to the people who are on both lists?

I know that some Exchange servers are configured to stop the delivery of a duplicate messages by looking at the message ID but I would like to avoid sending it in the first place.

Any ideas?

You could throw together a third distribution list that covers both.

Are you sure it's sending dupes?  Outlook should be smart enough to cover both without sending dupes.

When using Domain groups, the exchange server will only send the email once to each person, regardless if they are a member of more than one group the email is sent to.

But i think you're talking about a distribution list you've created in your Outlook, which is a different animal.  I've never used them.
