I am looking for a book of electronics projects, mainly just stupid tinkering stuff, such as building a little radio etc. I have the basic skills, I can solder, read schematics, and do circuit board repairs but I haven't really done anything like this at home. I just want to screw around a little in my free time but i need a starting off point with schematics and maybe some how to guidance if i get stuck. have any of you guys done anything like this or can you steer me to a web site or forum where i can get the info.
any ideas? -Mike |

some years ago, Radio Shack had a series of such books. Each was maybe 20 pages long and taught a number of lessons about specific components: ICs, photo sensors, etc. The author's last name was Mim or Mims.
Other sources: Edmund Scientific should be a good source. Ramsay Electronics produces kits you can build with very basic tools, but I don't know how much theory they explain. |
| Nuts & Volts Magazine is a good source for projects like that. |
