I have an ASUS M2N-E SLI mobo with onboard C-Media sound.  If I use the C-Media drivers, I have constant interference coming through my speakers and occasional volume problems (too low no matter how high everything is cranked).  BUT... I have full audio capture support.

The only way to get rid of these issues is to uninstall and just let Windows treat it like PnP.  BUT... I have no wav capture support, which I need.

I don't know of any reputable drivers that are compatible with C-Media.

Do you guys?

if you are serious with sound then ditch the onboard audio for a sound blaster. you will get a lot better sound quality. i upgraded from onboard c-media(asus p5wdg2 pro)to the sound blaster x-fi fatal1ty last year-very big difference.

I'm only into sound insofar as I like to record sound or video clips for posting on youtube or something.  I have to put up with terrible output performance if I want that though.

I'll see if I can just switch between PnP and C-media in my sound options.
