Gents, I've got an issue, so I'm coming to the pros.

We use network printers here, denoted by IP address.  Normally, when I install a printer, I choose the 'local printer' option, and then set it up by IP address.  But for some reason, on another person's computer, this option is greyed out.

How else can I do this by IP address?  Or un-grey out the 'local printer' option?

Hopefully you guys can help me, because the Help(less) desk will take me hours.

ETA: She does not appear to be an Admin (on her own computer ) could that be why it's greyed out?

No Admin Right... No print... or it could be a policy that you computer has.

Right click on mu computer, go to Manage and then on the rigth side your see Local User and Groups... under the group, under the administrator group is she in there?

Nope, she's not there.  You have to 'Ask' IT to be an admin here.  Stupid policy, IMHO.

It will let you set up a network printer, but only by clicking the 'Network printer, or printer attached to another computer' button (under add printer), and then you have to browse for the printer you want, and there are hundreds of the same type that I'm trying to set up, and the descriptions are, shall we say, poor on their location.
