If you are like me, and have your TV hooked up to your PC as part of a Multimedia Home Theatre set up, then you can avoid paying for a wireless ethernet adapter for your Xbox 360 by following these simple steps. Hardware requirements: Open Ethernet port on your PC/Laptop, Wireless Ethernet Connection to Network/Internet Your Xbox 360 must be turned off for this if you run the cable from your ethernet port to your xbox 360 prior to taking the following steps. Step 1: Bridge your ethernet port and your wireless ethernet connection together, (the wireless ethernet connection should stay tied to your network/internet) allow for the wireless connection to renew it's dhcp lease. Step 1 1/2: Right Click on the Network Bridge Icon, uncheck and recheck the boxes for your Local Area Connection (ethernet port), and your wireless ethernet connection. Step 2: run cable from your ethernet port on your pc/laptop to your Xbox 360 Step 3: test your connection to xbox live. Move your PC/Laptop where ever you like. |
