Ok,

This is really starting to get on my nerves.  Certain folders and certain files that I try to open I get a Buffer Overflow error from McAffee that halts the process.

Im running WinXP Pro with service pack II installed.

The files that I am trying to open are video files that I have downloaded with bittorrent, and the folders that are giving me problems are folders with high amounts of .jpg files in them or .pdf files.

I'm starting to get pretty pissed over this. rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Stupid explorer.exe and its damnable buffer overflow problems...

Any insight is appreciated...

close mcafee when before you access the folders.    im not sure you can do this on all version but its work a try

right click on the icon and click close, or exit.

how much longer is the subscription for mcafee?   i would highly recomend NOT leaving it installed on your pc.   alot of better antivirus software out there you don't have to pay for.

Can't shut it off, it is the most current version and just keeps on runnin and runnin...

And I get it free with comcast, so I'm not paying...

I'll try to kill it though... stupid Mcaffee

Did you install another antivirus?

Buffer overflows are typically malicious exploit attempts.  Are you sure that McAffee wasn't blocking an attempted overflow?
