i am dual booting xp pro and vista ultimate, i was going to play a game in xp but needed to update my vid drivers, i uninstalled current xp driver, rebooted, then ran driver cleaner and rebooted again. upon reboot i noticed that my second hard drive containing vista wouldnt show up in my computer. i rebooted again this time going to vista, it hung on an error screen saying it couldnt find a file and to enter the vista dvd and repair. tried that and it says it cannot repair automatically.

the drive still shows up at post, so is it dead or what? i really need some of the stuff on the drive (200 gigs of my life for the last 3 years).

thanx in advance.

i got it figured out, somehow my partition table was corrupted.

i do have another question though, i took control of the xp desktop through vista to get some files that i had stored there, now i dont have access to my desktop in xp. i tried to give back permission/ownership but it doesnt work.

any ideas?
