Ok, the WinXP backup utility does exactly what I want to do EXCEPT: it creates ONE big backup file. Instead I want it to mirror the files, essentially use the backup drive as another regular 'ol drive. I am aware that changing anything on the backup and otherwise using it as a working drive sort of defeats the purpose so I am diligent in avoiding that right now. I just take all the files and folders I have COPY then PASTE onto the backup drive and say YES TO ALL when prompted to overwrite everything. I suppose I just want to automate that process. I want to avoid restoring some big backup file. thanks, Dan |

Not that I'm recommending it but XP has the Breifcase. Might work for you. support.microsoft.com/kb/307885 |
