Ok again I am about to throw my computer out the window..

I have road runner and have an sbg900 modem/wireless access point. I am using a new apple Imac wirelessly.

I surf and every 5-15 minutes it drops connection then picks up again then drops again then stops working

if I restart the modem it works again..

this is the second modem so I am guessing that it is not the problem

any suggestions...I called road runner and they said my signal was low but should not affect anything..I am just fed up paying 50 bones a month for something that works this bad

maybe my setting are messed up on the router or imac???

I was told to change the DNS server in my router but it won't let me

low signal has anything and everything to do with it

can you move either the router or computer closer together ?

cordless phones can conflict,  microwave ovens can,  florecent lighting can all cause horrific problems

I just ran istumbler and I am getting 45% signal on my computer gosh it is only about 25ft away (thought there is a micro, phone, and florescent light between the two)

when this happens the modem itself is showing no connection to isp but as soon as I restart it, it works

I am going to try and get a very long cat-5 cable and give up on wireless
