Some of us have been having connectivity issues with Arfcom lately. There was another thread about this a few weeks ago in GD, but I can't find it. I know some folks here may not venture into GD that often, but does anyone have any idea what's up with this? I am able to access other websites without any issues, or errors. Sometimes, a click and refresh will fix the issue. Other times, it will take multiple tries to finally connect to a thread, or go to the next page. Here's what is listed in the Error Console of my Firefox. Warning: Expected ',' in media list but found 'and'. Unrecognized at-rule or error parsing at-rule 'and'. As much as I hated too, I opened up my Internet Explorer, and tried that Right now, I'm running AVG 7.5 with ISS's BlackICE. I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.3, but I was experiencing the issues before I downloaded that latest version. I opened up another session with Firefox, and tried to get it to hang like it has in the past, but it's running smoothly right now, though I am still getting the warnings. Some pages take around 3 seconds to load, which is not unreasonable. It's when it hangs out there for more than 30 seconds that it starts to become annoying. I had cleared the error console before doing so, and before I even got into GD, I had ten warnings pop up in the error console, much like the one originally posted. I remember that this started happening after they had done some site work here, but I forget what had been done. With any of the other websites that I visit, everything pops up lickety-split. I can build computers, I can do battle with viruses. But this side of computer issues is new to me. In the meantime, I'll download Opera, and see what happens with that. Thanks. ETA: I downloaded Opera, and bounced around the site. It only took me a couple of minutes before I hung up between GD pages. Some others pages lagged longer than normal, but eventually came up. This one in particular hung for about 30 seconds before I killed it. Running a Dell 4600i, P4 3.0 Ghz, 2 Gb RAM Have had no issues with her at all, in spite of my tinkering. ETA #2: Hit the submit button to edit this post, and all I got was "Waiting for www.ar15.com" for 110 seconds, before I finally killed it. Which is another issue. Sometimes, when I reply to posts, it'll just hang out there. I have to hit stop, and then hit submit again, and it'll usually go through. Again, no problems with any other websites. |

Hey Cruze, Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I'm outta the house for 15 hours a stretch when I'm working, and I gotta sleep sometime! I disabled AVG and BlackICE, and I was still able to get it to hang. I even had a new error show up this morning. Error: [Exception... "'Permission denied to get property XULElement.accessKey' when calling method: [nsIDOMXULLabelElement::accessKey]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "JS frame :: http://www.ar15.com/lib/menu/udm-dom.js :: anonymous :: line 10" data: no] Source File: http://www.ar15.com/lib/menu/udm-dom.js Line: 10 I also worked with Opera again, and was able to get that to hang as well. But only on Arfcom. Yahoo, Glocktalk, Bodybuilding.com, Muscle and Fitness, and others haven't given me any trouble. Thanks for any other insight you may have. ETA: Crap, I knew I wasn't awake yet. Yes, I am running Windows XP, Pro. - |
Damn, where did the week go? Oh, that's right, Nor'Easter up this way. At least I'm not under water.Running SP2, with the latest updates, minus WGA. I'm still seeing the original warnings, so will have to tinker some more. I have to head for work, but I'll tinker some more tomorrow. |
| I was using the gun plate skin. Thing was, I had no issues for awhile after I started using it. So I don't know if the site code changed somehow, or it decided not to play nice with web browsers. It didn't like Explorer, Firefox, or Opera, so my guess would be on the site code. Every other website I went to had no lag times. |
Might want to IM goatboy telling him about the skins and the errors. He may need to lok at fixing it. -Foxxz |
