Got an email ad with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 2.2ghz cpu on sale for $99.50.... I have a 3700+ right now... worth the upgrade?

what processor is it HALF the frinkin amd chips run at 2.2 ghz

I bought it probably 6-8 months ago. The one I have now is a 3700+ AMD Athlon 64

Which model is the new one? Your 3700+ is probably a 2.2 gHz chip.
Also you need to know which socket both CPU's are. Yours might be the AM2 or it might still be an older one and that dual core won't physically fit.
