I have an old but reliable HP inkjet 2200 that I've set up the drivers for, I know it works (prints a test page), but it won't print documents. Device manager indicates the port (LPT 1) works. What gives? Assuming the port specification is wrong, how can I confirm the port is correctly specified? I should note that Windows indicates that the printer if out of paper, even though that is not the case. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot printers? |
Since it printed the test page, at least something must be working. Alpine |
| Printer is set as the default & uses a parallel cable; wasn't plug-&-play, as windoze didn't detect it when I hooked it up. I downloaded the driver from HPs site & ran the install, which seemed to take. Interestingly, the specific print-failure error message I get indicates that the printer is out of paper, which is incorrect. |
Alright, can I check setup from windoze, or do I have to go to reboot & bypass the OS & go directly to the BIOS screen? |
