I finally got the old dell working. It has a 20 gig hard drive, and I have a new 160 gig on the way. I was wondering if I can leave the 20 gig with the operating system on it, and install all the applications on the 160 gig drive. How do you do this? For instance, I have Windows XP as a clean install on the 20 gig drive. I add the 160 gig drive as a slave. If I install BF2, how can I direct it to go to the second drive or is that impossible? Would I be better off just using the big drive for storage instead?

During the installation of most applications it will ask you what location you want to install to.  Sometimes it's a simple dialog box during the install wizard other times you may have to click a button like "Custom..." installation to get to the install location.

You will also have to configure some jumpers on the drive so the motherboard recognises it as a slave drive. The New drive will have all the instructions you need. Good luck!
