Quickly. I installed 512meg of RAM into my computer. Athlon 64 about 3 years old. The ram was installed about 5 months ago and that is when the problem started. The machine would not even get to the Windows startup screen. A visit to the shop suggested replacing the power supply, removing the DU modem and replacing the original 512 meg of ram. I did this and installed an additional 512 for a total of 1024 on the motherboard and 256 on the VC. I was told that I may have more problems, there just wasn't any way to tell. Ever since, I get an error message often when watching video or playing flash games. Often enough to be aggravating I will get an error message when web surfing too. I also get the "blue screen of death" every 4 or 5 days. Yesterday I actually read it and the searched google for the indicated error. The search indicated that it was a RAM problem. I am thinking that since it usually happens when doing video tasks that it is the RAM memory on the VC. What is the fix? I'll be happy to provide more info, I just didn't want to get long-winded. |
