Quickly.  I installed 512meg of RAM into my computer.  Athlon 64 about 3 years old.  The ram was installed about 5 months ago and that is when the problem started.  The machine would not even get to the Windows startup screen.  A visit to the shop suggested replacing the power supply, removing the DU modem and replacing the original 512 meg of ram.  I did this and installed an additional 512 for a total of 1024 on the motherboard and 256 on the VC.  I was told that I may have more problems, there just wasn't any way to tell.

Ever since, I get an error message often when watching video or playing flash games.  Often enough to be aggravating I will get an error message when web surfing too.  I also get the "blue screen of death" every 4 or 5 days.  Yesterday I actually read it and the searched google for the indicated error.  The search indicated that it was a RAM problem.  I am thinking that since it usually happens when doing video tasks that it is the RAM memory on the VC.  What is the fix?

I'll be happy to provide more info, I just didn't want to get long-winded.

so take one one stick at a time(the memory), see if you still have the same problem.

if you do it could be your video card,     you might also reinstall your video card drivers with the latest,  if that doesn't help the next step is to switch out the video card
