My Dell Inspiron 8200 won't connect to my LinkSys wireless network anymore.  One day it just started showing "Limited or No Connectivity", although it connects to the wireless network itself just fine.  I can also connect using the neighborhood's unsecured wireless networks.  I'm using Charter broadband for my ISP.

I've double-checked my WEP password and it's fine, as is my network name.  When I click on "Limited Connectivity" and use the "repair" function, I get a message saying Windows cannot renew your IP address.  Under "Support" for the Wireless connection, it shows an IP Address and Subnet Mask, but the Default Gateway is blank.

I'm lost, and hoping for help here instead of going to Best Buy.  What should I do?

Just tried connecting with a cable through the back of the wireless router, that works fine...

Two things:

1) Have you tried re-setting the router by pressing on the reset button on the back of the unit? Just push the button quickly and watch it re-initialize? Make sure that the WLAN Link light lights-up. If you had any power-outage recently, or accidentally unplugged the unit for 1 second, the wireless connectivity may have been frozen. I have seen this happen many times and giving that button a quick push fixes it everytime.

2) Do you have a cordless phone in the vicinity of the router? 2.4GHz phones are notorious for causing these problems.

Hope this helps.
