im looking for a new laptop, wont be gaming or photo/video editing, just need it for everyday browsing/video watching. but i dont want it to bog down when theres 3 or 4 tabs open in the browser.

ive got 5 laptops here which are all pretty similar except for the processors, which would be the best?? or is there another one for around 500/under that yall would recommend?

also one of them says its only wireless-b, my internet is only 10mbps DSL, so would the wireless-b be a problem?

Yes it would

I would spend a bit more and get a business class laptop which are better built/designed and will likely last longer than a entry level consumer laptop.

something like this:

For every day browsing and video watching, get a tablet.

Google Nexus products are good.  Unless you absolutely need a laptop....which from your usage explanation, you don't.

have no problem going with a business class. hows this one??  Link

or are the intel processors preferred over the amd? it seems the intels are what bump the price up that extra $50-100.  are we talking HK(intel) compared to glock(amd) or HK(intel) compared to hipoint(amd)??

Check out techbargains.com and watch for a good deal on something you like.  I have never been an HP fan and would never buy an Acer.  I have had great luck with Dell computers although mostly business class.  Had an Asus and it was ok.  On a Sager now, which is a gaming laptop, and it is pretty nice, but much more expensive than you are looking for.  Techbargains, though, usually will have good deals.  Just watch it for a while and see the different sales.  It changes every day.

Best to stick with intel.  AMD is far behind regarding performance, efficiency (battery life) and thermals.  For a gun comparison its like an HK (intel) vs  a Ruger P series/S&W sigma (AMD)

Just as a note - all the laptops on your original list have at least 902.11n - the HP laptop which is listed by Best Buy as having B actually has N based on HP's website.  I don't think you can find a laptop toady (certainly not in 17") with anything less than N.

Every one of those laptops is made from the same components, and comes from the same factory in Taiwan.  It literally does not matter which one you choose, make your selection based on the quality of the warranty, and your preferred fit and finish on the casing.
