Looking at renting a small office for a little while that is about 1km (.6 miles) from my house. I have a business internet account at my house and I would prefer not to have to have a second account if I could get away with it.
Some details - I have trees right behind the house and sporadically in between the locations so I have no line of sight. It will also go over one subdivision. I will be unable to get a tower tall enough to clear the trees but could probably get one 12-15 feet in the air at the back of the house. The building on the other end is a 1.5 story so I could get it just over that. I have had experience setting up the Ubiquiti enterprise wifi networks but nothing that was going over this kind of distance. Anyone have any experience setting up a wireless network for something like this? |

No LOS, don't even waste the time and money. I do this for a living. Having done this kind of thing I will mostly agree with the above. BUT if you don't mind potentially wasting $200 pickup a pair of nanobeams and see what happens I've had surprising results in the past.
