Hi all,

VA-Gunnut asked me to help moderate this part of the site so feel free to click report or IM me if you need a thread deleted, if someone posts something inappropriate, or if a spammer gets past the firewall

My background - I've been a computer nerd almost all my life, my first computer was a Sinclair ZX-81 and I created my first websites in 1992 (a static site for a Karate club and a fantasy sports league that used Perl to take people predictions and updates scores).

After college in England I joined a startup and built their website and back-end systems that allowed companies to register their brands/trademarks in almost all country-code top level domains. From there I went to work with Network Solutions while they still had a monopoly on .com domains (and when one of the root servers was a Sparcstation 20 sitting on a desk in the corner of the office with no security to stop people messing with it).

I worked in the domain name industry for about 10 years before branching off into domain name resales and affiliate marketing. Currently I am a stay-at-home dad to a two-year old who still dabbles in affiliate marketing, building websites, building/upgrading my own computers, home automation and security etc.

Welcome to the Mod club!!!!!!

Now if you can just keep the flightless one from booting up his old boot leg Pacmac server software on the server again and crashing it , we will be set.

P.S, your turn to wash the company Yugo car (don't spray/knock the duct tape off it with the hose; it's the only thing holding the doors on).

Welcome to Modland!  Thank your lucky stars you landed in the city, and not the jungle.

Sounds like you have a pretty solid background.

Congratulations!   It sounds like that two year old has quite the mind.
