[ARCHIVED THREAD] - MS Transfer tool

I checked the archives. Who's used the MS transfer tool, to move from XP on Computer A to Win 7 on Computer B?

Any problems? Things to do before attempting this?

Are you talking about Windows Easy Transfer?

A few years ago I built a new machine, installed Win 7, then used Easy Transfer to move everything over from my old XP box. I didn't have any problems, just followed the instructions and it worked.

Download Win7 Easy Transfer on your XP machine:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/windows-easy-transfer

Run it.

Run it on your Win7 Machine.

Import.

Done.

Only thing it won't transfer is programs.. and some other smaller crap (NK2 file, etc.)
