Hey All,

I recently thought with all the investment in my DVD collection, I should back up my disks so I don't end up "having all the eggs in one basket"...

I had a sealed box of 123 Copy DVD around, so I installed in on my Windows 7 laptop.

However, whenever I try to copy a disk, I get crappy results...  I guess the program is maybe choking on the Copy Protection of most DVD's these days.

Is there any suggestions on other options I can try.  One of the reviews mentioned using a de-crypt program then using 123 to reburn the disc.

Sounds like a major pain the butt, but I've wasted stacks of Double Layer DVD blanks & days of time with terrible results using off the shelf 123 Copy DVD.

Any and all help / advise / suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Use ImgBurn and either DVDFab or AnyDVD to make copies.

I'd also look into ripping them to ISOs and storing them on a hard drive, it would be much cheaper than buying DVD-R DLs.

That's my preferred method.  The downside to ISO's is playing them across the network at home can be a pain.  VLC plays them with out a problem but plex must transcode them and Roku's require transcoding as well.
