A friend of mines nephew has a netbook with windows 7 (I believe).

The nephew forgot his password.  He is giving the netbook to my friend.

How can my friend unlock this netbook?

Thanks.

If it's being given away then just boot to BIOS and reset to factory default.

Isnt the BIOS password different from the Win 7 password?

I can think of 2 ways with a Linux live CD:

Method 1

Method 2, which I find easier

Will try these suggestions.  Not sure if the netbook has a CD drive though.  I will find out.

Thanks.

Boot from a linux distro off of a thumb drive.

ntpasswd is a good suggestion too.  Dont know if it is available as a bootable USB image....
