About 1:30 am today as I started to shut dow VMware Player 3.1.4 I got an update notice on Workstation 8, I dismissed it and immediately got one for Player 4.  Since I wanted it for Windows 8, I stayed up late to download and install it.  This morning I installed Win 8 from the .iso and it worked perfectly. The Metro UI looked a lot better in Player then virtualBox.
FYI, I don't see Player 4 on VMwares's download site so the only way to get is seems if you already have Player 3.

I think they yanked it, I saw a couple of messages at the VM Player forum that some got the download but others tried late Tuesday or Today and it didn't work.

ok, if you DL the VMWare WS 8.0, it comes with PLayer 4.0.
