I am getting a new PC laptop, and will be transferring my files over to the new one. I am mainly worried about transferring all of my iTunes library over to the new one. All of my library is loaded onto my iPod (which is a iPhone 4), along with all my games and contacts.
Can anyone recommend a good program for transferring files? Can I just sync my iPhone with the iTunes on the new computer? Will it put everything on my phone onto the new computer? Any help will be appreciated. |

I've always have good success by installing iTunes and launching it once on the new computer.
Quit iTunes. Do one "last" sync of your iphone on the old computer, make sure it completes correctly. That way, if the new computer resets your iphone and deletes all your apps/music by mistake, you can resync back to the old computer and get everything reinstalled. Copy the iTunes Library folder from the old computer over to the new (You can find this folder in your itunes preferences on the old computer) Launch itunes and make sure all the music is there and plays If you have purchased music of movies on the old computer, before you reformat it, sell it, whatever, make sure you deauthorize it with the itunes store (under the "Store" menu) |
