I purchased an external backup drive (WD My Passport Essential).

The problem is that the included utility doesn't backup everything (it excludes system files, program files, and god knows what else).  I'm on Vista Home Premium, and the included utility with that does similar shenanigans with not backing up everything.

Recommend a backup program that will back up everything/anything I want.  I prefer something that allows me to retrieve individual files, as well as something that does real-time backup so I don't have to do it manually.  Free, of course, is a good thing.

I use ViceVersa Pro. Makes it easy to copy/backup while getting a visual overview before you execute.

Acronis True Image.  It'll back up your whole drive, so in the event of a melt down you just swap drives and you're back up and running.

Acronis Migrate Easy.  It'll back up your drive and let you install it to a different hardware scheme.
