Recently when I put my computer to sleep and bring it out, the screen stays black for a second or two while everything starts back up. This is normal.

However for about a second to a half second of that time, I can see a VERY faint outline of my login screen...like looking through a tinted window. The fading issue occurs at no time other than when I am bringing it out of sleep.

The computer is 2009 built, sold to me in 2010.

Sometimes if I log in too fast, the login chime gets cut off or garbled. This speaker issue does not effect any other sounds than that chime.

The only damage that this computer has seen was temporary, after I accidentally spilled some water on it. The touchpad quit working so I flipped it upside down and popped the battery out.

1. The above issues are not water related, so I have eliminated that. Water would not cause a speaker issue at login only, nor would it cause a fade at login...it would cause issues that were persistent at random times or cause the hardware to quit working all together.

2. HDD damage is pretty much ruled out, I have not dropped this computer (though I have bumped into it from time to time), and it has a g-shock protection built into the drive.

Hmmm, I was thinking about a delay in the LCD display too.

It started recently...and there has been no recent damage.
