Has anyone here been to any of the Tech-Security Conferences put on by Data Connectors. If so was it worth it, I have a free ticket from a friend who works for Symantec. I am a 3rd yr CS student w/ minor in Digital Forensics and it looks like it might be a good networking experience. Just curious if it is worth going to or is it a waste of time. It is a all day event in Boston, MA.
Thanks in advance. P.S. Just a little side note, I am a 38yr old, mid life crisis case, and decided a change in career is what I needed, have always been into computers so thought I'd give digital forensics and network security a try. Is there anyone in this field on board here? |

I've been in network security field for a bit over 8 years, deal with our forensics team as well. Screw that small conference. If you really want to learn something go to defcon, notacon etc. Will have to check up on defcon and notacon, but thought maybe this conference would give me a little networking chance. And it is all paid including lunch. |

The best bang for your buck when it comes to presentations and networking would probably be Defcon & Blackhat |
