Ok I dont know what happened but now when I play music I get static like the speakers are blown. The really odd thing is that when I plugged a brand new set of headphones I heard the same static.
Is this a problem with the audio codec?

That was it. I have no idea how the driver (realtek HD) could of got corrupted. First time in 10 years of messing with computers.
