Quoted: For anyone that has a few minutes, please check out my new website and give me some feedback. Eric McFerrin Photography A couple of quick things....I hate white text on black background....unless I'm staring at stock charts all day.....I would suggest moving the greeting above the gallery below the header, say who you are and what you do right off the bat.....nice windmill/sunset.... |

Thanks for the feedback. Those are good ideas. I moved the bio up. The text color is a light grey. Any suggestions for a text color? I want to keep the background because the images look best on black. |

If you want the background for the photos to pop, then I would play around with font colors....and size.....maybe charcoal background..??.....I had a graphics business and one thing I learned...if you can't read it, you don't need it....try bumping the font up a couple of points... |

Thanks for the comments everyone. Its also good to hear from folks with Birmingham roots.
FTAggie, the BNSF night shot was done with one exposure (no blending). It required a good bit of post work, but looks almost exactly like the scene I saw thru the camera viewfinder. This shot is a good example of a situation where the camera simply cannot be allowed to drive the final result. Because the exposure was critical, it was shot in manual mode (99% of my photography is manual mode). The million dollar question is this... If you were interested in having photography work done, would the images on my site convince you to hire me? That is what the site was intended for. I do a good bit of professional photography work at my day job. I'm hoping that the website can be used as eye candy to help me do some sideline work. |

I like your stuff... but I understand photography and do a bit myself. |

I do my own Add a Corporate section. Do portraits of Corporate leaders. Head and shoulder, full body poses, group shots of management or teams that work together in various surroundings. Here's a tip...Pricing. Local pro photog here will do corporate photos, but will only allow you to use the shots in one or two ads or publications. Close friend is an Attorney, I sent a friend to shoot him and his associates because he did not want the restricions to have to keep up with where the photos were used all the time. Local pro missed out on the job due to greed. Friend got a fat wallet because he told Attorney he could post them on every damned light pole in town. He got his money, Attorney got photos he can use without restrictions. I would have taken the job, but don't have studio lighting for proper look. |
