Loving this new CS4. I have only been able to briefly monkey with it but I am loving the adjustments palette... Considering I always tweak my shots after taking them, having the palette handy is greatness...

One of the many nice changes on CS4. I think they've made some very substantial upgrades on over CS3.

Personally I love the Tabbed file listings.  There are many more, but Photoshop CS4 is much better than CS3.

Except CS4 and Vista don't agree all the time. Every update would crash CS4.

I know, Vista 64 bit is to blame. SO, CS3 until that changes.

I have CS4 on my laptop running Vista and have had no conflicts whatsoever.

Same.  Just make sure you have the latest updates.

I run CS4 on a desktop PC with Vista 64 and have never had an issue.  Also run it on a Mac OSX Macbook Pro, no problems with either.  Even run Vista 64 with Parallels on the Macbook, never had a problem, (but not running CS4 on the Parallels).

Yup. Same here. No problems on Vista 64.

I had a nightmare with the updates on a brand new badass computer.

Took someone from Microsoft to personally come over and fix Adobe's fucked up updates.
(DFW friend)

I'd say never accept the adobe updates.

It's running fine now but what a pain in the ass to deal with.

You can google the issue and see how piss poor adobe's tech service is.
Plenty of bugs that are still not completely worked out.

But once it is running fine, CS4 is bad ass...

At least I am not alone then!!!!

There are plenty of fixes listed on various websites. I just got sick of it crashing with every update!

Hopefully you were in need of Adobe Premiere CS4.  What a absolutely pain in the ass and buggy as hell.  It took them forever to fix simple.  The had an issue when you exported out a video in Quicktime using h264 codec, it would completely forget your settings and you had to do over again.  Just stupid.

No, it was photoshop.
Numerous issues importing raw files.
Constant freezes and crashes.

Google " VersionCue.dll missing in CS4"

This is the nightmare that is still going on for a lot of people.

Read this thread on adobe's forums.
Incompetent assholes at adobe...
It's not at all an isolated insodent.

Took an Asian guy from CHina to write a hack that is a fix for most people to fix adobe's fuck up.
This worked for me a little bit, then it crashed again and took my buddy three different trips to come over and fix this piece of shit.

I know my way around a computer pretty well. And have been using photoshop since it first came out when I was in college...a long time ago.
CS4 just has a lot of issues to be fixed.

But like I said, when it is stable, I love it.

I've been debating between spending my investment dollars on CS4 or Lightroom 2. I'm still on 2 and 1 respectively. I guess I should look at everything that's changed from CS2 to CS4.

Where's the cheapest place to get CS4?
