I got a new "lexar 2Gb memory stick PRODuo" for my "Sony Handycam model DCR-TRV20". When inserted in handycam, it flashes “MEMORY STICK ERROR”. I tried to reformat it in the camera and it says the same thing. How can this be fixed? Thank you, Ocala313

You have any recovery software? Even if there's nothing on it maybe it can fix whatever's wrong. Probably not, though. If reformatting it doesn't work you might have to send it back. I got bit by my first card problem after years of shooting. Sadly it occurred at the very moment the bride was walking down to the beach.  The 2GB card seems hosed but I haven't tried to recover it yet. Fortunately I was able to swap to my spare body.
