So, I attempted to get approved to submit images through Shutterstock and they have denied me for various reasons.  The question I have is in regards to an artistic picture of a National Forest Recreation Area sign.

According to the reviewer, the image was not approved because "Intellectual Property -- Image potentially infringes on intellectual property rights."

So I went back to the shutterstock website and searched for similar images to see if they have been previously approved...low and behold, I found a similar one right off the bat..

and another...

How is it that this image is allowed, but mine isn't?  The sign is a very similar type of sign, but for a different park.

Photos of the park signs should be fine. Photos of store or lodge signs might be a problem given that the store/lodge is privately owned, maybe?

Your best bet is to ask for clarification with the two examples you gave us.
