I'm going through some digital pictures to choose which ones i want to print. So the pics are shaushed a little, and if i rotate, they are stretced a little.
whats the deal, is there a way to view the actual?, Monitor adjustment? Gave up on Google. |

Tried to respond privately so it would not appear as though I was being snarky, but I would suggest that when you ask questions such as this, please provide as much detail as you can in order to increase your chances of a viable solution.
That said, your problem may be in the pixel aspect ratio, which is used for monitor display, but usually (but not always) ignored when printing. Resetting to a square pixel shape may be the solution you seek, based on the scant information provided. If this doesn't work, and you don't get other solutions in the forum, edit your original post to provide more information. ETA: Also check/change the resolution to be the same in both the X & Y dimension. (I.E. Xres=72, Yres=72; NOT Xres=72, Yres=300) Always willing to share my ignorance... |

We need to know what program you are using to print with and what its settings are. GreyKnight's suggestion to turn off "fit to page" might solve the problem. Another option is to keep the "fit to page" on and make sure that "maintain aspect ratio" is also turned on. |

Thanks for the reply, feel free to be blunt. I'll back up a bit. I'm looking at photos, lets say in Windows Photo Gallery, Office Picture Manager and Nikon's Viewnx. So due to quantity and expense of the enlargements, I wish to see the acutual aspect as opposed to stretch/Smashed view. I plan to get 4x6 prints at a local pharmacy, and enlargements later at some higher end photomat. For the X & Y dimensions, where is this setting applied? |

A quick follow up: In the Microsoft apps, you want to turn off the "fit to page/frame" so that the whole picture is printed with added margins as necessary. You seem to get the "maintain aspect ratio" for free. For the Nikon apps, you want to turn off "crop to fit" so that the whole picture is printed with added margins as necessary. You seem to get the "maintain aspect ratio" for free. |
