Gents,

Looking for a light meter.  Never used one.  I'm looking for something that is easy to use.  I have NO experience with light meters so I don't know what to get or what features are desireable.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

What do you intend to do with it?  Off camera flash?

I'll mainly be using it for indoor studio setting.  White light and strobes.

I may use it from time to time for flash and ambient light, but the main purpose is for indoor studio setting.

Thanks

Well, you need something that will be able to trigger your lighting wirelessly...Sekonic is the standard I guess.  I just use a cheapo Gossen for my cameras without meters, but I don't really touch studio lighting...so, in other words, I don't know anything helpful...

I have a Sekonic L-358, and have been very satisfied with it. Don't use it a lot, but when I do, it works perfectly.

I have barely used my light meter since I went digital.  Seems just as easy to snap a photo and look at the histogram just to make sure it's not over exposed.  I do think it can be a good tool for learning lighting ratios though.

Truthfully, any of today's digital light meters will work just fine.  I still have the very first one I ever bought way back in the early 90's and it still works just fine.
