They say that the hour right after sunrise and the hour just before sunset are the "golden" hours thanks to the effects low-angle sunlight has on color.

Was out in KS a few weeks ago pheasant hunting; one afternoon about 30 minutes before sunset the clouds broke and I got this "pheasant's eyeball" view of the world.  I really like the golden hues of the stubble contrasted with the dark overcast above;  the combine track gives an interesting perspective.  My only complaint is my shadow in low-left; didn't notice it until I was back home and reviewing.  This image has had no processing and was shot with my Canon SD780 at f3.2 1/250, 35mm (equivalent) focal length.

ETA:  I notice Photobucket's resizing seems to have dulled the pic down a bit, oh well.
