I just got it, and while I find it's photo enhancing capabilities to be astonishing, as well as the journalization-type applications, I see and can find no tools to use for putting Lootie and Pedobear into photos.  And kids, we ALL KNOW this is why we use advanced photo tools.  I also have GIMP for Mac, and that has it, but it's just GOTTA be in Aperture SOMEWHERE.  Or, isn't it?

I've skimmed over Aperture (don't use macs), so I may be wrong... but it seems like it is nearly identical to Adobe Lightroom.

Assuming that my assessment is correct: No, you can't do heavy photo editing... it is meant to catalog, tag, organize, search and do all the basic photo editing functions as well as a **very** limited amount of advanced photo editing.

If you're looking to combine multiple pictures or do a lot of heavy editing, you need to jump into Photoshop (or any photo editor). Other than that, you can stay in Aperture/LR for everything else.

I hated LR the first time I used it... I was expecting something WAY different. Once I went through some video tutorials and saw a rundown of what it was REALLY supposed to do, it became my favorite program. I'm assuming there are video tutorials for Aperture that will help explain all the functionality... if so, they're worth watching.

There may be plug-ins that can help do simple things.

But for major editing (like Lootie pics), I have Aperture linked with Photoshop Elements.
