What is the best one I can buy, should I just get Photoshop? I just got into this camera thing and have been playing around with my camera and trying to learn. I am interested in creating some really wide shots and I don't think the Nikon software that came with my camera has this functionality. I did Google the subject and I get a bunch of freeware links and some other junk to different free and pay programs, but I have heard that some of the programs pretty much suck. I would like to get the best one the first time around, what's my best bet? Thanks Casey |

You might want to take a look at the Gigapan Stitch software.
It is intended for use with photos taken with the aid of a Gigapan robotic camera mount, but it should also work with manually-taken panoramas. I'm not sure what they charge for it independent of the robotic mount purchase, but I'm sure they would price it for you. See it at http://gigapansystems.com/gigapan-products/gigapan-software/gigapan-stitcher-software-information.html |

Or you can get the right camera to start with and be done with it. This is what I currently use for panoramas. I bill the client a extra 5K per day when I bring it out. Even if they are not willing to pay when I shoot landscapes or golf courses I still bring it out and shoot some stock shots and tease them with it, half the time they pony up the extra on the day rate.
