| I have an older D-540 Camera that I just bought a new 2 gig XD card for. Now it trys to format the card but won;t let me use it. It just keeps telling me to format the card every time, what gives? |

Hmmm...not good.
In my experience the camera cannot 'read' or 'see' the card. I'm guessing here & I hope other chim in w/ any corrections. Has the card been formated in a MAC or Windows computer before being formatted in the camera? Camera manual should say weather the camera can read a FAT 16 or FAT 32 format. Please help here I'm so totally WAG'ing here. (to WAG= is to Wild Ass Guess  )
Can the camera read a 2gb card? Depending on the vintage of camera it may not read a 'big' card. Again a WAG  So check your manual.
Can the card be switched to be read as two 1gb cards? I'm not that familiar w/ the XD format, so again a WAG. 7mm |
